FITNESS FRIDAY: FULL BODY WORKOUT!

Friday 30 March 2018

Hello Humans! I hope you're all doing really well! This week I FINALLY tried out a workout that I put together a couple of weeks ago, and I loved it SO MUCH, that I thought I'd piece it together for you guys to give a try!

I'd recommend doing this one in a gym environment, because you do need equipment. So the equipment you will need are:

  • Step box
  • Barbell
  • Dumbbells
  • Mat
  • Medicine Ball
I've made these images quite big, so you're more than happy to save these for yourselves and use them in your own time.

Please be sure to drink plenty of water, work at your own pace. If it's too much for you, only do a few of the exercises, or do just one round of each.

If you do use any of my workouts, please comment below and let me know what you thought! I'm going to start putting together more workouts as the weeks go on, and I'll let you know what works for me, etc.

HELLO SPRING!

Thursday 29 March 2018

Spring is springing,
The birds are singing;
And we've lost an hour's sleep.

The nights are longer,
My spirits are stronger;
So my annoyance ain't that deep.

The flowers are blooming,
But the rain is still dooming;
Overall it's a happier time.

Children are outside playing,
Happiness is the face they're displaying;
Overall it's a wonderful crime.

TESTING: POWERLIPS FLUID LIPGLOSS.

Monday 26 March 2018

Hello Humans! I hope you're all doing well! This was supposed to go up on Friday, but then life got in the way so SORRY!!

Today I'm going to be reviewing the Powerlips Fluid Lipgloss. I bought this from my friend Lauren, who's selling this product at the moment over Social Media, and it's in the shade; Breadwinner.

So from looking at the first swatch, I have to say, I was incredibly impressed with the colour. It was darker than I originally thought (when applied - but that's because I'm so pale!), but I actually really liked it.

The swatch was SO GOOD and when I tried to wipe it off later on, I realised that it did stain slightly for a little while, but it did come off eventually. Not a down point about the lipstick, it's just part of the formula.

Applying the lipstick was really easy and simple. It wasn't too messy, which I usually find with dark liquid lipsticks, so I was really happy about that. And it was when I applied it, I realised just how pale I really am. 😂

And here is the finish result;
If you're interested in purchasing the Powerlips Fluid Lipgloss or want to know what other shade ranges they do, here's a pic for you:
And be sure to purchase them here.

DETAILS; MY FAVOURITE JEWELLERY!

Wednesday 21 March 2018

Hello Humans! Hope you're all well. Today I thought I'd share with you some of my favourite pieces of jewellery that I like to wear on an every day basis.

I'll show you a few pictures and tell you where I got them from.
From left to right; the thumb ring was from Etsy, that myself and my bff Feebs got as matching jewellery. The middle ring is an infinity ring that my cousin Amy got me for my 21st birthday. And the last one is a ring with small diamonds that my mum got me for my 15th birthday. She wanted to get me something special from just her that I'll keep forever.

This one is a BRAND NEW jewellery piece! This is an Anna Saccone Stillness Collection in the sign Pieces. My dad got me it for my birthday this year and I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! Click here to purchase yours!

The last two are more personal pieces to me. The gold ring is actually my mum's wedding ring. She gave it to me as a keepsake when I was 15/16. And last year I decided to wear it constantly as a reminder of when we were all a family. The silver one was my grandma's wedding ring. (She's been married and divorced twice - lol!) This one was the ring she wore when she married my step-grandad. Quick backstory; I never knew my "real" grandad, so I always called my step-grandad my real one. Sadly he passed away in 2016, and I remembered that my Gran had given me this ring years before. So after he passed, I asked her which married it belonged. Because it was my step-grandad (aka my grandad duh), I decided to wear it every day in memory of him.

And those are a few jewellery pieces that I love wearing on the regular! If you have any faves that you want to share, just pop a comment ⬇️.

RECIPE: MY BRUSCHETTA INSPIRED PASTA DISH!

Monday 19 March 2018

Hello Humans! I hope you're well! Instead of a Music Monday this week, I thought I'd do share with you a recipe I put together at the weekend.

Whenever I go to an Italian restaurant, my favourite starter to get is bruschetta. I really wanted to create a really nice pasta dish and I got the idea off Pinterest. However, the recipe seemed very extreme and too much effort. So I want to Asda (no spon) and got some ingredients that are included to make Bruschetta and then created my own little dish.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bowtie pasta
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Spinach
  • Chicken
  • Olive oil
  • White sauce [click here x if you don't know what I mean]
  • (Purposely no specifics - your choice how much you want of each!! I just wing it each time!)

METHOD:
  1. Put your pasta in a pan with boiling water and then turn on the hob and start to cook it
  2. Cut your chicken into tiny pieces and then put into a frying pan and start to cook on the hob
  3. Cut your cherry tomatoes into 2 halves (four pieces) and then prepare your sauce.
  4. Mix the white sauce in with milk and put into a pan
  5. When the pasta is pretty much ready, rinse out the water and then add to the frying pan with the chicken.
  6. Add your cherry tomatoes, spinach and olive oil into the frying pan and start to stir it all together every few minutes.
  7. Pour in your sauce and mix together until it looks like it's ready
  8. Pour onto a plate and serve.

Unfortunately I can't predict how long to cook everything for. It's your own choice and depends how much pasta you use, the chicken you decide on and what kind of oven you have.

If you decide to try this out, let me know by commenting below. TRUST ME! It's delicious!!

MY NIALL HORAN CONCERT!

Sunday 18 March 2018

HELLO HUMANS! This is my favourite post by far at the moment! On Thursday 15th March, myself and Abiee went to see Niall Horan at the Manchester O2 Arena. And it was EPIC!

We first spent the day mooching around and also had a cocktail at Gino D'Acampo's Pizza & Prosecco Bar, which was GORGE!

And then we decided to go to the venue around half 5/6ish. It was already PACKED! The line was sooooo long and then eventually, after queuing in the freezing cold, we were inside! I spent £65 on merch...

I literally have no regrets about that. But what I DO regret, is leaving my effing Tour Book on the bathroom sink FIVE MINUTES AFTER PAYING 15 QUID FOR IT! LIVID! A N Y W A Y...

ISN'T IT GORGEOUS?! Look familiar...?

Yes, I now match with bae. (Did I really call him that? Yes, yes I did).

ANYWAY THE CONCERT!!!!

Julia Michaels was the opening act and I forgot how much I LOVE her! She was incredible! And then this man FINALLY came on...
Oh em gee! He was FUCKING AMAZING! I was literally blown away!! I got lost in his performance so many times, that poor Abiee had to keep snapping me back to reality!!

That boy certainly knows how to put on a performance. I can - hands down - say that this was the BEST CONCERT I have ever been to! It was honestly so amazing. He made us laughed, made me want to cry, and made me fall in love with him all over again.

I wish I could go again and watch him. It was honestly such an incredible concert, and if you're going to see him soon, you're in for a real treat. PS. Pls can we talk about HIS OUTFIT. He looked FAF!

When the concert was over, Abiee took the train home, and I decided to stay over in a hotel near the train station. The room was so nice! But because I find it difficult sleeping in hotel rooms alone, it took me so goddamn long to get to sleep. But once I did, I was gone for the night! Then I got drenched walking from the train station, to my mum's house. NOT FUN!

Okay so that's my little post about my Niall Horan experience. Let me know if you've seen him yet and what you thought!!

MUSIC MONDAY; UNTITLED PLAYLIST.

Monday 12 March 2018

Hello Humans! I'm finally back with a brand new Music Monday! This one is different because this isn't my 2018 Playlist, it's from my Untitled Playlist. So here are the songs I've been loving...

1. ...Ready For It? - Taylor Swift

Okay so a few years ago my love for Taylor Swift died and then recently, my love has slowly started again. Gorgeous was the first one I became obsessed with and then ...Ready for it came around. I think I've finally started loving her again and I really need to sit down and properly listen to her album. Click here to listen to ...Ready For It on Spotify.

2. Still Falling For You - Bridget Jones's Baby

This is an old favourite that I was so happy I could add to my new playlist and fall in love with again. Bridget Jones is my FAVOURITE trilogy and this song just pretty much sums up my favourite couple: Bridget Jones and Mark Darcy. AND I love Ellie Goulding also, so the fact that she was the main singer from the film is everything. Click here to listen to Still Falling For You on Spotify.

3. 18 - One Direction

I mean... Do I really need to justify this?! 18 and Fools Gold are my two favourite songs from the album Four. This song is just such a perfect love song, and I feel like if the lyrics were more relatable, I'd have it as my first dance. Honestly. Click here to listen to 18 on Spotify.

4. Wild Love - James Bay

JAMES BAY IS FREAKING BACK!! I LOVED THE CALM AND THE CHAOS! And now that he's back, I am so, SO happy! Wild Love has such a different tone and he's got a whole new sound and I am LOVING IT! I cannot wait to hear the rest of the album and see the journey he's been through since the last album. Click here to listen to Wild Love on Spotify.

And those are the four songs that I've been loving! I'll be back on Wednesday with a brand new post...

FLASHBACK FRIDAY

Friday 9 March 2018

Hello Humans! As Sunday is my brother's birthday (and Mother's Day - love you madre!), I thought I'd do a Flashback Friday based on his wedding...

My brother and his wife got married on 12th August 2018 in Cyprus and it was such an amazing day. It was perfect.

This was my favourite day from the wedding. All the family was there, everyone was together and everyone was just so happy and laid back.

This is probably my favourite picture from the day (no offence Newlyweds lol).

Dad, brother and mum.

A cute (and rare) sibling photo.

So for a little rundown and backstory... my brother got married in Cyprus, Paphos on 12th August 2015. He got married at the Capo Bay Hotel where he was staying at the time. It was beautiful wedding and my sister-in-law looked amazing. Obvs stole the show! (Soz boys and your pink dicky bows!) I made an entire video on my trip to Cyprus, which can be found here. One of my favourite trips I've had. There were a lot of drunken nights, laughter and inside jokes.

CHOOSING MY GO-TO FOUNDATION!

Wednesday 7 March 2018

Hello Humans! Today I thought I'd do a post all about choosing the perfect foundation for my skin tone. I'm extremely pale and I find choosing foundations really difficult for me.

The foundations I tested are:

  • Maybelline Superstay 24 Hour Foundation - True Ivory
  • L'Oreal True Match - 1N
  • L'Oreal Infalliable 24 Hours - Porcelain

Okay and the foundation swatches are in order from the bullet points (left to right)

Soph from Sophdoesnails suggested that the Maybelline Super Stay foundation in the shade True Ivory is a perfect match for her, and I always thought we had similar skin tone. However, when it came, I noticed it was quite orange on my skin and in the bathroom lighting at work, it was extremely noticeable. So that was a big no for me.

If you had seen my most recent vlog with Joanne, we talked about our skin tones and which foundations suit them better. Joanne lives by the True Match foundation, however after applying it the other week, I noticed that the shade 1N had the same effect on me as the Maybelline foundation.

So for now, although I'm still not 100% satisfied, I'm using the Infalliable foundation in the shade Porcelain. I feel like it is still slightly orange, but not as noticeable and it's really stressing me out.

If you're pale skinned and have had the same problem, please leave a comment letting me know which foundations worked for you - I'd REALLY appreciate it!!

I'll be back Friday with a brand new post;

REVIEWING URBAN DECAY'S TROUBLEMAKER MASCARA AND ALL NIGHTER SETTING SPRAY!

Monday 5 March 2018

Hello Humans! I'm back with another makeup-style post, however this time it's a review! I'm planning on starting new sections on my blog, and reviewing different products is definitely something I'm wanting to do. So let's get started!

My cousin Amy bought me Urban Decay's Troublemaker Mascara and All Nighter Setting Spray for my birthday, with the intention of me reviewing it. I did do a video that I have filmed and edited, however I didn't want to upload it because I felt like it was rushed, and a bit crap really. (I'm not a beauty vlogger and doing those kinds of videos make me nervous!) So I thought I'd just upload my review here, rather than doing both.

Troublemaker Mascara

Amy decided that it'd be best to get me the sample sizes (good choice) so I can test them first and then decide later on if I wish to buy the full product.

This mascara is claiming to make your lashes super fat, super long and sex proof. Obvs I'm not testing the third one 🙄, however I tested the rest of them! The packaging is a holographic effect which I like, and I deffo think that Joanne would approve.

Here are my lashes before applying the mascara:

A lil blurry, but you get the picture! So I applied the first coat on one eye and then compared them.

Okay so I wasn't overly impressed, I'm not going to lie. Yes my bottom lashes do look longer and they're a lot darker (duh Brogan, that's what mascara does 🙄). However, I wouldn't say they were super long and definitely not super fat, like the box claimed.

Okay so because it sounds like I totally hate the mascara, I will say, that I LOVE how my lashes do look! They have definitely lengthened my bottom lashes which I like, however I feel like my top lashes look just as they did before.

So I then went and did another coat on each eye and this was the end result:

I also want to point out that, as you can see on the last picture, this mascara is quite clumpy. So if you don't like that effect in a mascara, then this isn't the one for you. Overall, like I have said, I do like how my lashes look and I do think it's a good mascara. It doesn't do everything it claims to do on the box, but it is a good mascara!

All Nighter; Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

Lol at the teddys, vision board and the pile of clothing in the background. This was supposed to be an aesthetic shot of the spray in the shot, but because this is me and my life is a fail, it didn't work. 😩

ANYWAY! The packaging for this setting spray is GORGE!! A simple matte black packaging with lilac writing. LAHV IT! Obviously I didn't take pictures for me testing this, because... how do you show it works????

So this claims to keep your makeup looking flawless all day. I wore it all day yesterday and can confirm that my makeup DID in fact look pretty much the same as when I applied the setting spray. Although - HANDS UP! I will admit, I've never actually used a setting spray before in my LIFE, so wasn't really expecting that much from it, due to having no experience with them. BUT it's a really nice spray that feels dewy when you first apply it, and then it literally soaks into your skin and you don't even notice it's on! I did think my face felt tighter when it completely dried, but I don't know if that's what it's supposed to do or if I imagined it... 👀

Overall, I would definitely recommend the setting spray.

Aaaand that's everything! If you've used any of these products, please be sure to leave a comment on your review of these products! If you have any questions, also leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my review!

I'll be back in a few days! BYE!! 👋🏻
