It starts off gradually,
Almost as if you barely feel it.
And then it creeps up your throat,
And it's like you can't breathe.
It spreads all over your body,
Until you feel it everywhere;
Nothing.
You feel everything shut down,
And there's screaming in your head:
Everything you've not said,
Everything you've thought.
You sit there, waiting.
For it to stop feeling numb,
For it to stop hurting at the same time.
It's everything all in one,
And it's the hope that it stops.
Tick, tock. Tick, tock...
